I was having a discusion with Spider Webb about the mythical 15lb wally , I know I know so and so caught one last year or the year before or maybe it was his uncles brothers friend of a friend  just would like to see a verified picture of the legendary beast , Spider caught a 13.8 lber back in i think it was 1983 or 84 that was weighed at Don "doodlebug" Bakers and i have yet to see one bigger , if you have a pic post it please make me a believer :D I have seen lots of 12's that were supposed to be 16lbs ( not ) I even drove two hours to a guys house in Trenton to see a supposed 16 lb that was caught , I took my verified scales with me and lo and behold 12lbs 11oz he was shocked said everyone that seen it said it was bigger , they had weighed it on a set of old spring scales , it was a beautiful fish non the less and i think anyone would be proud to claim it as a personal best . Next time i am at the camp i will take a pic of spiders mount with something to give it scale and we can take some random guesses at fish of comparative size ,might help the crappy weather seem a little shorter  PLEASE LETS KEEP IT FRIENDLY no slamming , and only a little stretching of the truth

Thanks Chasin Eye's it would give some perspective to just how big a walleye like that has to be , I have been fishing the Bay since 1976 and have yet to see one , my hat is off to you Congrats :)

Scott , jump in at anytime , I don't believe it was verified , could be wrong , I'm not a big believer in the length and girth = weight formulas seen them wrong a few times , weighed on a set of scales that are accurate and verified by a trustworthy soul , that i believe :)

yes that length x girth formula is not accurate and usually high. I have never seen a 15 with my own eyes. I have boated or iced probably well over 50 ten lbers but I have never got one bigger that 13.6. They are no doubt really rare. I've had a few fish that would be 15 if I used that formula but it just doesnt work

First time out in the BOQ, my Berkley electric scale marked 14 pounds, 4 ounces. There have to be bigger ones out there!

I don't have the pics on my cell but i can get some up when I'm in front of my cp.

You're right the 15 wasn't verified it was released but we did get measurements and we also kept a 14lb 15 oz (I think I'll confirm that) that was verified and mounted. (Crucify me for that later lol) its measurements were slightly smaller so i have to assume the first was over 15.

I'm not in this game for accolade I'm in it for smiles, and that fish and gave us lots of those.

Chasin , if you do the math that sounds about right , the class of 88 thru 91 should be at max size , I am pumped for the spring , Rover nice fish !
