I agree there are some high teen fish that roam the bay every year. I do not think many are caught however. It has nothing to do with being a skilled or unskilled fisherman. I just think there are more rumors of 15lb plus fish then there are actually 15lb plus fish being caught. Does anyone agree with that? I also believe that a guy who keeps 1 out of 75 fish over 10lbs that he has caught is hurting the fishery less that the guy who keeps 4 lil guys every time he goes out.

look at these pigs, all from oregon. The columbia river probably holds more big fish than quinte but overall I think quinte is a better fishery

even just take a look in the rivers if your bored when they run. I was shocked at seeing some of the massive eyes at lock 19 ( peterborough ) that come up from rice lake.

ya ,a 16 is huge ,1 in 5,000,000 so what are they odds of a 19 or 20 being landed? about as easy as winning the lotto x 2,lol but its happened before and will happen again....somewhere!!! hopefully from the BAY!!:}

i have to agree with most on this thread.

to crack 15lbs on a real scale is a lifetime achievement.

to crack 16lbs is now beyond a lifetime achievement...your literally in a class if five or so anglers who have ever done it...

greater than 16lbs...well....i don't even know what to say about that....

i met russ cole a few years back....very friendly, down to earth, humble guy.....

who knows....but i've still yet to see a 15lbs'er on a scale, in person, since i've been fishing quinte...which started 2003.

WW , Russ Coles fish was a definate monster a freak for sure , but i consider a 15 lber a Dragon a mythical monster that may exist but can you say you seen one , yeah Dragons do exist ( Komodo ) I like to believe that the mark is achievable but very very rare , If you ever sit down and do the math how many anglers have fished the Bay since the start of the boom in 1976 , remember when the Napanee tournament alone would pull in 9000 anglers in one day , how about the guys that fish everyday all day for a living , the list is astronomical , the other thread showed some remarkable fish but notice that very few were claimed to be 15 lots of 14 + but seasoned fisherman can spot a true Dragon . Without a doubt this type of conversation is great to keep you keen and pump you up for the spring :D .I think that one of the Board members here will slay the Dragon this year ,i just hope i am fortunate enough to be there to see it , come on ice out ,

33.7 x19 isn't that big really, i looked at the pic in the mag looks like only bout 12 pounds. my pb eye was 30x19 and it was only 9.12lbs. i think it was caught in manitoba
