I want to buy a minnkota trolling motor with ipilot. My boat is a 16.5' lund so am looking at the 55#. What I was wondering is what the difference is between the Terrova and Powerdrive model and if the Terrova is worth the extra $300. Also any input about the ipilot would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

I'm considering the same thing and don't think I want to give up the foot pedal. I want to compare how they stow and deploy my current powerdrive is a PITA

Hey guys....I pilot is awesome!!

The biggest difference is the foot pedal. The Terrova allows you to use the foot-pedal and the handheld remote. The Powerdrive is only the remote. Hope this helps.

I also run the Terrova on a Ranger 620.. had the Genesis before.. I pilot is awesome.. I fish alone alot and I have used the "anchor me here" tons. Still though I use the foot pedal more.. old habits I guess

I have only good to report about the motor... good run times on a charge easy deploy etc and and I have gotten excellent service from the CDN distributor Johnson Outdoors! If you are going to want one you ought to get it on order.. last year there was a big wait for product

Good Luck!

Ron

So you think the Terrova is worth the extra money. I know it comes with the foot pedal and believe it is a bit of $100 but also has a different release mechanisim than the powerdrive V2.
I am leaning towards the Terrova.
Thanks to all for your input.

I cannot comment on the comparsion as I had a Genesis with the power stow... but I can tell you have have had no issue with the stowing or deploying the Terrova.

when it comes ot fishing (or hunting) I figure that is it is more expensive it must be better:) so I might not be the best judge of value

Not sure you can go wrong, but I favour the Terrova.

good luck!

Ron

The I-pilot Terrova is an awesome unit, I wouldn't be without it.
