was out today off sydenham rd. still a good foot of ice left out far but the water is opening up at the creek mouth and the shoreline is getting mushy. bite was tough but we managed to scrounge up 4 and missed a couple more.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurp is what that above laker was sayin' btw.

I was out on loughby today. Ice is holding up well. 12inches black, 4-6 white on top with minimal slush. Early morning ice was great, hard on top. Warm and sun shine left about 1 inch of slush by 3:30pm.

We did well. Got into 10+ fish between 4 guys. Kept a few, let a few go. Biggest was 2.5lbs....sorry no pics.

Might get out on Thursday, supposed to be a dandy of a day.

Tight Lines

Chris

Hey Tim glad to hear you're getting them. Did you catch any splake on Dog? Hopefully I'll be getting my boat ready this weekend, I'll have to check the south shore to see if the ice is gone yet.

Should have your boat in the water soon,,,lol Drove by Collins Bay and it won't be long, Got skunkes on Dog last week. Just got back from PA and figure it's time to put the hardwater gear away. Good luck on the open water.
Tim

was out on loby again today got 3 small ones between 5 of us i got the biggest 1 and it was nothing to brag about size wise maybe a 18" at best didnt measure but it was a little longer then my boot....probably couldve been better but i was 1 for 6 trips to loby going into today so ill take it....the edges are broken and refrozen and if you walk on it after today you will likely get wet....most ppl have hung up there ice rods but im going back in the morning with a wooden plank to walk out on....still had 6-12" out from shore but there is a good chance you could be getting wet and that lake gets deep quick so i wouldn't advise others to go out.....im just a risky kinda guy n got a taste today so im gonna make one more run at it in the morn

On the bright side lots of water on bath rd side now everything between lamoines pt and brothers isands has iced out to shore there is open water @ the amherst island ferry and the collins bay creek has iced out almost the entire way across to lamoines pt none of the bath rd boat launches are usable yet but it wouldn't suprise me if the glenora ferry dock was useable but i keep my 12ft on shore and paddled out to cast a few lines before sundown with no luck....tmrw im gonna use the electric trolling motor....there is a lot of floating ice big chunks i'd be afraid to use a gas motor but im gonna do some more ice and softwater combo fishing tmrw since its looking to be a nice day and i only have a few more days to attempt pike fishing then im trouting til may

For everyone else hope your enjoying the off season
