The fishing for walleye has been slow the last while. I believe it's because we have had so many weather patterns comming through the area. Also it has been cooler than normal.
Today is the first hot and low wind day for some time. I beleive with this weather the walleye will really turn on in the days to come. Let's hear what your catches are.....larry

I would have to agree Larry, over the past couple weeks we have been out a dozen times and caught nothing, last one we got was the begining of June and was a small one 1/2 lbs. So hopefully with the nicer weather coming thing will pick up.

Does the poor catch results not coincide with the arrival of the Shad? Kind of makes sense to me that less fish will be caught when the Bay's Walleye population can gorge itself on bait fish.

When are the Shad done their spawn?

The shad has something to do with the lower catches. But the surface water temperature on tuesday was just 65 degrees-cool for this time of year.
Also the fish aren't in there normal areas where we've caught them over the last recent years.
I've checked with different resorts and they all report slower than normal results as well.
It will pick up and likely very soon with the return as i've said of of the hot weather....Larry

just my two cents worth.
bought a 2001 Crestliner and am very pleased with boat. Lots of room, storage and very solid boat. The welded hull is also a plus.
I would recommend a Crestliner to anyone
