Quinte Fishing

pI went fishing with 2 old school buddies and had a great time! Saturday started out relatively calm and there were lots of fish marked at thompson's cove. However only managed one walleye. we also caught a 12 lb pike my buddies personal best. We left there and tried the church area with no luck. We decided to try for some bass near grassy island. We caught some smaller bass and some walleye in this area. We proceded towards ram island where i made several casts with a 1/4oz.Red Swan Spinnerbait and landed my personal best 6lb smallmouth! later we fished many areas. We ended the day with 10 walleye uzicks/swan spinners the pike 6 smallmouth and numerous sheepshead,perch,white bass and pumpkin seed. Sunday the weather was very calm but all we or any one we talked to got was perch and pumpkinseed...Larry

Are they beginning to catch any yellow persch of size by chance?

I heard of a few this year, but am unsure about the overall pic., given my distance away now (I get to come back for a couple of days in a few weeks and always try to somehow put in an outing somewhere in the area).

Over the last month I have caught some of the largest perch ever. At a quick glance for the uninitiated they could mistake them for walleye. They seem to school in the same size where ever they are.....lary
