I was wondering if anyone had any tips for catching walleye on spinnerbaits in terms of colour, techniques and presentation in a deep clear lake. Thanks.

The Uzick spinner seems to work for me. Orange and chartruse seem to work well. But when you say deep water, how deep do you mean?? You can get them to go pretty deep.

I dont have any Uzick spinners. I have three Terminator spinnerbaits and 3 other ones but none with that same design. The lake is pretty deep, not trout kind of deep where im fishing but I'd say about 20 feet, the temperature is pretty cold too.

A couple or three years ago, there was a fisher who used spinnerbaits for walleyes when no one else was catching anything.

He used to cast em into the weeds and pockets in the weed beds and parachute them down. That's how he caught walleye on spinner baits.

Hope that helps?

Funny you should ask, because the walleye fishing has been slow lately I have resorted to fishing for large mouth bass with spinner baits and low and behold I'm catching walleye as well. 3/8 oz. 4-8 ft. to 1/2 oz in deeper water. The same usual colours chartruse, white, etc. Fishing weedline structures I'm a beliver that bass and walleye co exist, for the same bait fish each is after is there. Try this technique I think it will suprise you. Two walleye caught yesterday south side of Forresters Island on spinnerbaits.

a few years ago I wrote about catching walleye on white spinnerbaits and how i would sloooowww roll them up to 18ft down and hammer walleye. well nothings changed cause I was down there the lant week and boated some beauties.I lost one at the boat(camara shy)around 8 lbs about tues. of the past week. I use white with a 4 inch pomer grub trailer. use it on the bog too and rice!!

really, all i fish for is bass. and 95% of my fishing comes using spinnerbaits...

and in the three outings this year, and about a 1000 casts with spinnerbaits, i've yet to pull up a walleye on BoQ.
