Launched at Bath and was fishing Bar Shoal by 7am on Monday. Continued to hit most of the Shoals and humps throughout the day using mostly spinners, 6 rod spread. In between the shoals i drove a zig zag pattern trying to mark fish but found none? Did not mark fish until i made it to Duck Island around 3pm. That’s where I had my first bite of the day only to have the fish break off halfway in. Covered allot of water Canadian/American and no fish to show for it. Did try cranks at Duck Island for a while but still could not get them to bite. Water was flat and the sun was bright not the best walleye weather for open water trolling. Might have been too early?

If you are banging bottom you could be nicking your line on zebra. Mussels. Just a heads up. I have tried many techniques out there and many cranks. I found one for me that by far out performs all others and it even works better when I sun fade it. Keep at it

Wait for a media annoucement to come out, i made a phone call to my local mp, and they have figured things out,
going back to the old diffenton that you have to anchor or make land to be considered landed. but as it still stands you could get 1000 find if you dont report in. apparently this changed 5 years ago and no one noticed.. because they didnt enforce it..

Fireball...just for clarification..are you saying that they are going back to what we had previously understood that "if you dont anchor or land" you do not have to report in and that until that announcement is made, you still have to call in and are subject to $1000 fine, or are you saying either way, if you dont report in you are still subject to $1000 fine?

I hope they enjoyed the article in the paper about us running to the usa and back for the tourney. LOL. That was great timing with all of this coming out now. Good thing we called in both ways. ;) I think that if I were fishing Canadian waters at charity shoal, and I saw the Canadian border patrol coming that I would just jump the few hundred feet to get back on American waters and just sit there and see what they would do. Would they come across? Id have the American coast guard on speed dial though haha

shark, the american coast guard routinely comes into canadian water (on the niagara bar), and checks canadian fishing boats for their american license...

they say we "could" have fished their water...my father almost got into a fist fight with an american board guard during the orleans flooding...he suggested they could have better things to do then harrass us...things went down from there.

their exact words were "i don't care what your fancy little toy says, you were in american water, now where is your american license"...

i took a big chance, started up my outboard, and made my way back to port.....they didn't follow....but they SURE were in our water, asking for an american license....

the border can be a crazy place!

Our coast guard doesn't check fishing licenses. You sure it wasn't the conservation department?
