Now that bass has opened, and some of us have come to shore with smiles and some with frowns, my question to you is what was your best bait of the day?

For me I had a slow start to the day (fishing East Lake near Picton). However by noon I had found that the bass there were hungry for a perch coloured spinner bait. By far that was the most productive bait. The least productive of the day were my flipn baits. I couldn't buy a bite on either the pig n jig or any of my creature baits.

Anyways as I said earlier the day finished with a bang and I caught a bunch of fish most on a spinner and most in 5 feet of water.

So how about you?

I got 14 all over 3 biggest being 5.3 between 4 and 8 am on spooks on Sydenham lake

Caught well over 20 on Dog Lake, most were on Texas rigged 10" power worms or crayfish imitation baits, sizes ranged from 2 - 5 lbs. got most in 8-10 fow. Fairly tough conditions for the most part, pretty breezy.

Me and my Honey fished Charleston had an awsome day , lots of smallies and a few bucket mouths water temps were around 71 in the bays , speed craws in black and purple flake were the go to bait ,seen the most boats in years , thought it would be fairly quite when we launched at 4:00 am and there was only one truck and trailer, came off around noon and the parking lot was full

Myself and Soggy D landed 25 fish on Dog, but the fishing was tough. Windy and lots of boats out. Couldn't get them to go on horizontal presentations like topwaters, cranks or spinnerbaits, we had to slow down and work for them. Baits of the day were the 7" black power worm and the Yum frog.

No really big fish, biggest about 3.5lbs. Unbelievable how many boats were out, had a hard time getting out of our bay as there were 6 boats fishing the creek channel in the shallow stump filled bay. Might have to start posting under the name "Sydenham Lake" LOL. Looking forward to later in the week when the fishing pressure dies down. Reminds me of why I like to fish during the week, when possible. Good luck out there.

Fished the Canadian opener on St. Lawrence near Rockport with my son, had 18 between the two of us. He was fishing white spinner bait with white mister twister 3" grub, I was fishing a 5 inch pumpkin senko wacky style. Best catch on the senko and 10 pound fireline with 15 pound flourocarbon leader is below ... darn...how do i post image?

We fished the Trent River and caught about 15 or so. A green Mepps seemed to do the trick. I think I spent more time untangling the little guys lines than actually fishing. But we had a great time out there.

fished dog both days. Caught a bunch of between 2 and 3 pounds. Biggwest was only 3lb 6oz. Got most on a wake bait in 8 -12 running the tops of the weeds and on buzz baits and rage toads in the lillies.

Fished Sunday from 2:30 to 5:00pm and 2 of us landed 15 fish, all 2-3 lbs. Fish were shallow with the high water and working the inside weedline and pads was productive. Searched for fish with wakebaits and live target frogs, followed up on the short hitters with 7" power worm.

Had something happen I've seen with smallies but not largemouth. Tagged one on a wakebait and as i'm bringing it in 3 other bass about the same size are following it trying to steal the bait. I land my fish and Dave pitches a worm and bang he has one on. Put his in the net and I grab a rod rigged with a worm. Bang, fish on. 3 largemouth bass in probalbly less than a minute. Laughter & high fives, good times.
