man my fishing luck just keeps holding out for me one weekend after another i keep finding myself with great friends and good fishing! After a long hard week of work I get a call from my good buddy al to join him in a salmon fish and off we go 6am at the dock, on the water and it was heaven again.
Started out with a quick run to the fishing waters, and a good spred was set and it wasnt long we had our first fish of the day. it turned out to be a laker but hey! its a fish right lol who can complain when you have that throbbing feeling shooting down yer rod into your hands right to the arms .
Image
wasnt long after we managed a shaker but this time it was a Chinook so we had what we came for and it could only get better from that point on and im here to tell you it did get better. MUCH better as it was my turn in the rotation and my smile lite up when the rod loaded with a dipsy started shakin. then it took off with a sing as the drag was winding out and it was game on. A little while into the battle i had long been waiting for another rod goes off and we are smack dab into a double as the back of the boat was now a bit crazy and both fish were dancing at the back of the boat.
Image
we managed 2 more shakers and again its my turn and bam another good fish was on the rod what a crazy fish it was as it rushed the boat like Grant took Richmond and it wasnt long we had a mess as the fish is going back and forth thru the spred/ I hear the words from Al saying LET IT GO!!!!! Im thinking to myself this man is a nut case. let it go?? i mean we came here to catch fish not let them go lol. well he just shook his head and walked me (the rookie) thru the fight and untangled not one but two lines away from the fish and managed to net the fish. I thought this fish came off three times as it rushed the boat so fast i reeled as fast as i could to catch up......... this salmon fishing is some pretty crazy stuff
Image
Long story short we ended up going 7 for 9 fish . with a few hard smacks but the fish just didnt stick. im now tired, sore, and ready for a nap. and still cant believe a man would say LET IT GO when a fish is in complete controul and rushing right at you lol. for the rest of you rookies. Let it go means open the bail so the fish turns out away from the spred!! lol
Thanks Al. what a great time we had

Good shootin' guys!!...that's the report all you eastern salmon chasers were waitin' for...clearly the kings are starting to show themselves off Prince Edward County!! We've lost all our warm water in the west the past few days with those north winds, hopefully, things start to pick up again for us soon...

NICE!!! Love the sound of a rod firing, especially the wire diver rod, something about the tip close to the water I just love it!!

well we went out for another day of slammin salmon and its was even better than the day before number wise as we put 12 in the boat and dumpen another 6 or 7 off the back. most the fish were a bit smaller in size and this time we did manage 4 or 5 15 or 16 inch fish wich was nice to see.
I have to say Al really diled them in after day one he put in a better program for day 2 and the numbers showed it. We even tagged a few fish for the day as Al works along with the spoon pullers tagging program. im sorry i dont have any pictures to show you as we were trying to work fast to get the fish in, weighed, measured, tagged, and back in the water to minimize the stress on the fish.
we put fish in the boat using every method, they came on riggers, dipsys, and wire off the boards, we cought off spoons, flys.cut bait, and rockets. I think (could be wrong) we were top boat on the water for the past two days and im only going by the radio chatter we were hearing out there from other boats.
So there you have it boys two days fishing about 10 hours worth and 20 fish landed and almost as many lost so thats a pretty good average over all. 3 happy guys with very sore mussles, and tired arms lol I think i need to take a break and fish for perch lol
