Hey guys (and girls) I'm new to this board and fairly new to fishing this area. I just bought a boat last summer and have been just drift fishing point anne for walleye with worm harnesses and or Erie dearies. I would love to learn more about local techniques if someone wants to point me in the right direction. I'd love to fish for smallies as well. My main fishing experience is largemouth. My boat is a fish and ski thing with a IO and it doesn't troll slow enough for walleye I may be able to slow it down with a bag or something. I'm not even sure what speed I should be at. I find the best fishing i get is drifting is at 1 - 1.5mph.

Most of my trolling with worm harnesses and Ducks I go 2.1. Today I bumped it up to 3.1 and caught 4 walleye within 10 min.

Hmm im not sure if my boat trolls that slow. I think i can only get down to about 3.5 without a bag. Excuse my ignorance but what is a "duck"?

3.1 isn't crazy, a lot of times when fish become lazy, you can get a reaction strike out of them. Thats same bait or lure trolled at 1.7 might have not get struck because fish have time to "analyze" it. They dont think, they strike

I always thought 3mph or more would be a Muskie speed!!! I didn't think anymore than 2.3 (roughly) for Walleye. Maybe I'll give it try next time it's "slow"
Learn something new everyday!!!
