why do the guys launch from quinte, or even call it a quinte tournie?

wouldn't it be best to launch from waupoos? i mean it's not exactly like anyone "targets" the greenbacks, UNLESS the winds are up.

Agree and disagree - maybe a topic for another post. Agree in that it is frustrating to compete against smallies, disagree in that Ben and Darce Asselstine are basically largemouth-only.......and they have more wins, more AOY, more top 10's than anyone else .

The launch is from belville, you would be surprised how many boats turn right (west, and go towards the trenton)..
there is lots of smallie and largie fishing to be had in the bay... every one has a chance to win...

quinte is known for the largie fishing.. i bet i could put a 20 pound bag together if i could hit some of the good smallie and largie spots. with out leaving the bay..(picton ferry) not going to happen every day. but if you spend your time, you will get it dialed in. just have to hit a big largie for a kicker to make it happen. i am still learning, and have alot of learning to do before i run a series like this, these guys are all good.. the results show no best team, this year clearly shows that..
those guys that make the long runs, could waste up to 1/4 of there fishing time...

i think it was in like 06 or 07 that i went to a watch a weight in,(a guy from work was fishing it that day) there was a team that showed up like 20 mins late, they werent aloud to weight in.. they held there fish up for the crowd to see. they probly had a 25 pound bag, but do to ruff conditions missed the weight in...

i dont think the smallie fishing is as easy as people think, i spend a ton of time out there, i rarely ever get skunked. but catch mostly 1-2 pound fish.. have been getting into some bigger stuff, now that i have a proper drop shot rod i miss less fish, all i can say is i love it... i would rather be smallie fishing then any thing else... diffently hooked... just alot of boats, alot of tournaments, and alot of fishing pressure from both canadian's and americans.. and the fish are released many miles away for these tournaments..

I think this is one of, if not the best touranment series around, every one has a chance of getting a check.
