I would go with Navionics Fish n Chip. Good deal on it at radioworld. $ 195.00 give them a call, great guy's to deal with.

I'm with Fred. Not sure about the FishnChip, cause there might be cheaper ones out there, but definitely call Radioworld and explain what you're looking for, and they'll hook you up. I have Hotmaps "Lakes Canada" which works fine for me, but everyone has different needs I suppose.

Good Luck

Hi BigGene the Fish N Chip covers the entire Bay Of Quinte as well as west lake. It is also compatible with Navplanner2 so you can use the chip in your computer to Print, plan trips.etc

Althought the fish n chip shows structure etc , it does not show marker buoys and info,

I have heard the Platinum + chip is the way to go. Whats so special about this chip and does anyone use it? Is it worth the money or can you get away with a cheaper version??

In my opinion the platinum plus chip is more for navigation then for fishing. It does not have detailed contours but has lots of info for onshore amenities as well as 3D data and satellite overlay.

For fishing the Fish n Chip is the way to go although the hot maps chip is very functional as well.

Does the Platinum + chip have the fish n chip with it? I currently have the Hotmaps Premium 2008 would there much difference from this chip to the platinum besides that it would have Lake Ontario on it??

Looking to buy hotmaps regular version (Canada) chip. Anybody upgrading and got one they want to part with? Boat I bought has an older Eagle 500c chartplotter and is not compaitble with the premium/platinum hotmaps.

I have the same chip you're looking for, and I think I only paid $115 for it new. Last year. Not sure if it does the Great Lakes cause I've never tried it.

Just a thought.

Where did you get yours. Contacted Radioworld and was told they had none, the product is being discontinued in Oct, so they won't be brining any in. If anyone knows where I can pick one up (new or used) please let me know. Contacted Navionics and they confirmed the chip will be phazed out in Oct.
