Last saturday we hosted family at the trailer, from out of town, including my brother inlaw. He doesnt do much fishing and just likes to catch anything that bites. At the park a few guys were mentioning the eyes were biting over by the weedbed behind the church so thats where we headed. Turned out to be the right decision as we got into them pretty good. average size was 3lbs with a 5lb and a few 4 lbers too. we were in 9-11ft and tossing lipless crankbaits through the weeds. Most of the boats in the area were trolling outside the weed edge as opposed to being right in the weeds. yes you will catch weeds and be cleaning hooks often but the size was much better than those trolling the outside. They bit till about noon.

Way to go Dan - Nice catch for a bass guy

The edges and some deep water have been good to us, perhaps we'll lighten the sinkers

Nothing wrong with being a Bass guy.........or a pike guy...or a crappie guy..or a perch guy...or even a walleye guy....all better than sitting in an office....

Quinte here we come...be there on the 26th!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hay bay church is right off the north shore road boat launch. About half way between ram Island and thompson point on north shore
