AndyM, I am thinking about doing this...i have never fished a tournie ever before....

do u limit the field to 30 boats?

what is the average size boat that fishes? 75hp - 115hp or are there the "big boys" playing in this one?

Sounds like a ton of fun!

Hey Steve,

The tournament is open to anyone, but is limited to 30 boats!! The boats will range from 9.9 to 200 hp most boats will be 16ft Aluminums with 40 to 75's. As for big boy's... don't worry about them!! They can have bad days too. Also, expect to have 15 to 20 prize's up for grabs, not bad for 30 boats.

Thanks,

Call me if you want more info.

MNR "livewell definition"????? Quote from 2011 regulation book Page 8. "Must be mechanically aerated at all times when live fish are being held in it"

I have a switch on my dashboard to fill it up, so does this mean I have to leave the switch on at all times to keep new water coming in?? Is that what mechanically aerated means?? Usually I just fill it up, and freshen up the water every half hour or so. I've never entered a tournament before, so it's never been an issue. Would like to find out if my liveweel is "legal" before entering the tourny.

Thanks!!

Yes Walleye 9, you would need to run it all day, except when you are running on the big motor unless you also have recirculate. With the hot temps we are having this summer constant aeration is necessary. Adding ice will also help keep those fish alive. A 500ml frozen water bottle added to the well will go a long way to help, freeze a few and add as needed.

Fireball,

That is a silly question, because no one is going to run to the lake!! If anyone plans to run to the lake then do the rest a favor and stay out of the tournament.

Smallmouth are included, last years winner had a 5 plus pound smallmouth mixed in with his largemouth.

It will all come down to faith in the other fisherman, but I am confident that the pack will stay within the boundaries.

Thanks,

Andy

Still about 5 spots left. So, if you want in, please register as soon as possible. Do not wait till Saturday morning, because there is no registration Saturday morning.

Thanks,

Andy
