I was back out on friday evening with a friend from Bracebridge who doesnt fish but wanted to give it a try. We headed to the haybay church to the same area I got into the eyes last week hoping they were still there. The weeds I had been fishing through have really started to die and there were only a few patches of them here and there. It wasnt looking good but tied on a crankbait and started throwing. Not 3 casts later i have a fish almost rip my rod from my hand and a few minutes later a 5.5lb eye is in the net. My buddy's eyes pop at the size of it. He doesnt know about the size of quinte eyes. A mere baby i told him come back in november and he'll be double that size, I dont think he believed me.
Continued to cast and a short time later another fish just under 5 lbs and another right after that. My buddy finally hits a 3 lber and a 4lber. Then he gets another and he said its pulling good so I go to quickly reel in so I can net his and my rod bends over so I set the hook and while holding on to the rod grab the net and scoop his which was close to 5. Drop the net and start reeling in mine. he cant get the fish out of the net cause the hook is tangled and the fish is kicking so I told him to go ahead and just scoop my fish with his still in the net. this last fish was the biggest of the night coming in at 5.14 on the scales. It was an awesome hour and a half of fishing. We were in 7 ft of water tossing out to the deeper water and reeling pretty slow

Dan, your last 2 reports are starting to make me wonder why I fish Bass in the summer. Might have to go back to my old ways, and stick with Pickerel year round.

Awesome report!!!!!
