Hi,
I usually make 2 or 3 trips each year starting early to mid August to Pidgeon Island south of Kingston to troll for eyes. Water depths are 30-90'. I use both downriggesr and planner boards using a variety of crank baits and and body baits. On the boards I run deep diving baits and off the riggers I run shallower running baits with cannon balls set at 15-40 ft. I have varying levels of success from a two person limit to getting but that happens rarely. Fish are generally larger than 5lbs and have taken them up to 13 lbs.

Good to hear eyes are biting in the lake. Hopefully I'll get out there soon, once I am back from southern Ontario. We caught 3 eyes tonight on Erie (4 pounder, 6 pounder and 8.5 pounder)

Jim

Well I got my first nice bow out at bonnet yesterday . I lost one on a dipsy right away . I thought it was strange that all the fish
I was marking on sonar were hugging the bottom in a 120ft . Made another pass nothing . So I lowered my riggers to 100 ft . immediately got a 7lb bow . Im new to fishing with the riggers and I didnt expect bows so deep . Sonar did the trick though it didnt show any fish that where not on the bottom .Is this because of warm water temps ?
