I'm thinking of renting a cottage on Newboro Lake next week. I heard there is some good Lake Trout fishing there. Has anyone fished it before in mid-August? Any advice on where to start (location, colours, depth, etc.), would be appreciated. Thanks!!

never fished it for lakers, but the smallie and largemouth bass fishing can be amazing, have seen 6's and 7's that have been mounted, that were caught in newboro. 5's are common. but you have to put your time in. fish where others dont.. and you will do well, i know a guy that is unbeatable in tournaments on that lake, but he has a spot that others wouldnt dare make the trip too..

I fish that area (Newboro, Clear, Mosquito, Loon, Benson, Indian Lakes). All of these lakes are connected. I have never targeted Lakers but have only ever heard of them being in Indian Lake. Indian is the deepest although there is a small section on Newboro near the entrance to Mosquito that has some deep water.
