Hello, I thought a brief introduction would be in order before I do any posting/commenting on post's.
I regularily check this website for information and some pretty good laughs on occasion so I though it was time that I logged in and introduced myself.
I am from the local area located just out side of Bath and I am a fish "o"holic just like many of the members on the board. I have been fishing this end of Lake O and the Bay of Quinte for 20+ years.I have also brought my kid's up fishing this same area and sharing what I have learned with them. Needless to say I am very proud of this area and know how good we all have it in terms of great fishing and the diversity in what we can catch.
I probably have bumped into a few of you both on the soft water and on the hard.
Coming from the Bath area you could pretty much guess I am a smallmouth guy and also enjoy those monster lake "o" walleye's.
I run a 16.5ft pro angler Lund boat (mr pike) blue and white. So if you see me at the launch say hello.
Cheer's and keep up the terrific work on this great site.

Fireball, I usually will put in at Bath (finkle park) and Collins Bay or Anglin Bay weather depending. On the Bay of Q it's Sherman's or Dessylou sometimes cuthill rd launch in the early season.
Thanks for the warm welcome all.

Welcome to the board - you're in a good spot to get to the fish either North Channel or BOQ.

Time to start getting the gear ready for the Fall Walleye Hunt........

I think your right fireball (steve).
I do have my personal best area's(that i don't give up) but if asked I do tell how deep what color's baits //on rocks // on ledges etc.
I seem to remember possibly talking to you when prefishing with a friend of mine for one of his tournament's. Everyone was just pulling out that afternoon(bass boats) and we spoke briefly while loading up. There was a guy (solo) with black Ranger also pulling out that day that seemed pretty interested in how everyone made out. I spoke with him and he wasn't in the fish at all that day.
Don't feel slighted I was tight lipped that day just because of up coming event for my buddy.
Don't feel bad I was pulling out of Finkle last year 2 days before the Canadian open and the "hunter / angler " T.V guy's where already at the launch looking pretty down in mouth. It was windy and I think they where out in the big water with there Predator and struck out hard.(beat up to)
I was nice enough to show them what I had caught that day on my digital camera
But he did ask where and with what so I threw him tube bait and showed him the shoal on my G.P.S
He looked alittle shocked when it was Kerr Point Shoal. You can almost see the "can" from the launch.
It's like a lot of smally spot's, they vary from year to year in quality.
It was the least I could do for them guy's....someone was going to have to clean all my drool off the side of there boat , man what a sweet set up.

Haha, of course i understand, i do belive you had the digi out and showed me some pictures as well, i never did ask for spots, but was trying to hint at any thing, i think your buddy said that you guys dont go very far from the launch.
Thats funny, i know that black ranger, i fish against him, he pulled onto my honey hole looking to talk to me tonight, just as i caught another 3 pounder... he didnt wet a line at it.. but once again still having a tough time. there is alot of water out there, not easy fishing.
sounds like i will have to take you out some time, and you can show me how its done, we can stay away from your secret spots.
see you on the water,
steve

Thanks Steve, this time of year is tough for the "Big" smallies .
They are deep during the day and drop shotting off the sides of any shoals right outside of collins Bay works well. 25-35 ft of water using various shad baits.
As fall rolls on though look out....no more sorting through schools of cookie cutters and 3 lbers,,,mark um , throw down and if you hook up and its a big smallie they will all be big in that area. Thats what I have found any how.
I always stay with light line though 6lb.Re-tie / re-tie. :geek:
