I like home.

Home is where the fish are.

Don't get me wrong. I leave in two days for another 8 days in the north, for another northern bass getaway.

But with gas prices the way they are, there is something to be said about spending $3 in gas to get to the launch, then fishing all day for another $8 dollars...i don't even need to run....start fishing right out of port.

The fishing has been as good as I have ever experienced this time of the year. Wire dipsy's back 75' (number 0 dipsy) which goes about 16' down has been the ticket..many are getting fish on spoons and meat....all my fish have come on spinnies and flies...The T100 has been our star of the show! Fish are all shallow right now...no need to travel very far out to get them!

Here's some photo's from the past weekend. Fished Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evening after work.

I'm thinking my salmon season is done for the year...unless i get the urge to do some night casting from the casting deck using the bowmount..... now that is fun!

If you notice I take the time to revive and release ALL my kings....show the fish some respect...and please, NO TREBLE hooks in the creeks.....

But i'll be in the beauiful north chasing down that 6lbs largie while all the creek mess goes on...thank gawd.

Guys,

Very impressive. Especially, the trophy Rainbows. That Brown made a great picture too.

Awesome report Steve! I got to get out salmon fishing more next year.

The fight must be awesome on the spinning rods.

the fights on the spinning rods are second to none .... literally.

i'm not sure you could find a stronger fight in fresh water...

those are 7'6" IMX medium light rods....amazingly fun!

unfortunately the run does not last long in hamilton....we are far fewer fish than say the credit, bronte, ganny, bowmanville, etc.

in fact, with the east winds we had the last three days straight i'm not sure there are any fish left...

there may be another 'small' run in early september, but my personal experience fishing this water is one big early run in august, then small pockets throughout september...

give it a shot....but i cannot confirm any more strong fishing....at least in front of hamilton.....bronte and credit may still be going strong however.
