My son and I decided to try fishing at Port Hope today. We got out there around 7:00am. I was really surprised how busy it was there. People were lining the banks fishing for salmon. They caught quite a few too. There was tents and Rv's all over the place. We trolled around for several hours with just one hit on a green fly (I forget which one) and a broken leader. Then we found a area where the fish were congregating and my son got a nice 18 lb fish on a greasy chicken. After a few more passes at the same area I got a 13lb on the same spoon. These are the 2 biggest we've landed. A nice way to finish off the season.

Here's a full screen shot.

Someone is obviously not used to catching BIG fish :)

Nice work! Spoons, jplugs, and body baits are your best option this time of year. Flasher /fly combos are more of a summer program.

Thanks for the tip Scott. I'm learning slowly :)I my son learned the hard way not to overtighten the drag on his lost fish. It looked to be a good one.

You have done really well this year, and will do much better next year hitting wellington during the prime time.
Fishing is so addictive. I just love to hear the reel scream.

Thanks Scott. At least now I don't feel totally out of place out there.
