Does anybody know of a website or anything else that can actually predict the weather to at least maybe 75% accuarcy!!!  The good ole Weather Network pretty much screwed up my whole weekend. Was planning on getting out on Scugog or Rice, or anywhere this weekend, but they have been calling for Rain and Thunderstorms pretty much from Friday night to Sunday night and didn't want to take a chance with a storm. Don't know if there was any action around the lakes, but I'm in Oshawa, and there hasn't been a drop of rain yet. Hopefully I can get out tomorrow.

LOL they cant even get the current conditions right half the time... We did get tstorm this morning in Kingston. But same here, they calling for it all day and last i saw was a warning of 100km/h winds and terrential down pour that was due in one hour (that was 3 hours ago)

id rather see them predict storms and not get them, then be 5 miles out in the lake and have a boom roll up on me... That gets scary...

Environment Canada radar.

The Weather Network are ......pathetic. Last weekend Environment Canada was calling for 30 knot winds (55+Km/h) and The Weather Network called for 30Km/h. Let me tell you! There is a big difference between a knot and a Km/h........a detail lost on the scientists at The Weather Network.

I use windfinder.com which also has weather forecast. Usually very reliable

When hurricane Irene was coming in I called my wife who was at the trailer and told her to put the awning up as the wind was going to come in NNE, which is a bad angle for our awning, at 11:30pm (according to windfinder.com). She said but its not windy at all. I told her to do it anyway! The next day she told me I was wrong, the wind never started till 11:35

Nice tips guys. Will have to check out windfinder. I find most forcasts lack wind info which makes a huge difference to those of us fishing out of smaller rigs.

You're right grizz, it changes a lot but I've also found that very often the 5 day forecast is right once u get to the day.

Thanks guys. I use windguru for wind, and is pretty good, but I'm not sure if it gives precip. or not. I'll check out windfinder for sure.

Thanks again!!

LOL Grizz!! I like the ol' stick you're head out the door trick too, but it's usually at least an hour drive where I'm fishing, and my neck can't stretch that far!!!!

Windfinder for wind. I only really care about the next 12-24hours usually bang on for that.

Www. Intellicast.com for weather. I use the interactive weathermap on the bottom of the page. It is a radar map so you can decide for yourself if you will get precipitation or not.
