I never have, if you tie a knot correctly there is no need for glue. That is just my opinion. Have you had a knot slip on ya blue?

I would use an albright if going from braid to mono or floro

used to tie the albright, i had some knots slip, i think its because i was using floro line vs leader material.

i dont think the glue helps much, other then keeping the weaves in the braid from fraying.
its one of those things, were the guy that showed me how to do it, used it, so i use it..
With a little bit of luck, maybe you can catch that fish and get your lure back, i am sure it does happen, i cant say i have ever caught a fish with a lure in its mouth...

An albright should never slip. You should test it with your hands before ever sinking it. If u cant pull it apart then a fish cant

Shark your right on if they're tied right they won't/shouldn't slip, But! I almost always crazy glue all knots. When I'm rigging at home and time is not a issue I ensure I glue all knots. On occasion when on the water and time is a issue I may not just to get the line out on a hot bite.

Your statements remind me of fishing with a buddy of mine, he's not using any leader material, so I offer up some 20 lb flouro leader( late fall fishing) material and a tube of crazy glue, and advise it's thick stuff best to glue the knots. he advises me he's a FISHERMAN! and know's how to tie a knot and doesn't need the glue. 10 minutes later he hooks up with one of my favourite reef runners on and a 1 minute fight turns into a disappointment fish gone! he reels in and of course the first thing out of his mouth is the flouro broke, after quick inspection it wasn't the flouro but a slipped knot, so the moral of this story it's better to be safe rather than sorry.

The cheap buggar never did replace the lure either!LOL!

BLUE, USE THE GLUE!

I have used glue in the past but not in resent years.

I now use the double uni knot on most knot joints as mono to braid, mono to lead core & lead core to braid. Have not had a failure since going to the double uni. I still use the over hand on some fluoro to lead core but also kind of getting away from that knot.

To each their own but the double uni is the best that I have ever used.

Later
Al

I tie a double uni and stick with it because I have confidence in it. Lots of good points here. Tie a good knot, dab of glue can't hurt if you got time, and check that connection before it goes in the water. Sharpen hooks, check drag and hang on!!!

Sound like the bite is starting to heat up, may have to try and get out this weekend. Good luck out there guys.
