I have read that the Albright knot is better when the two lines are different diameter, and the Double uni-knot should be used when line diameter is same or close. I use the double uni myself, and have never had a problem.

I use the double uni on all kinds of different diameter line. The thicker the line the less number of wraps are required. The theory by the top dogs in Michigan is the Albright should be retied on the backing end daily, and the leader end should be retied after every 3 kings.

I know walleye don't abuse gear like kings but as far as I am concerned there are a lot better knots for the job than an Albright. Just my opinion.
