im coming up from windsor,(thanksgiving weekend)and we are going to deseronto,i could use some advice (where to go ,what to do)
ive been doin the same trip on the same weekend for a few years now, and we usually try to get enough perch for a fish fry .id like to try and do better this time.
we always hear " you are a couple weeks early"
i dunno... its always a great time to get away and fish on the BOQ but to catch some walleye would be the icing on the cake!!!
we come up on the may 24 weekend and do good , we even did ice fishing last winter and had a blast!
id just like some advice !!
THANKS!!!!

well if you read past posts on this website you should be able to give your self enough info to catch them..
read posts from this time of year, that were made last year. there is a ton of good info on this site, stored in old posts.

personaly, i would diffently fish towards picton, your in a good spot in deseronto, troll, towards picton (south). if you see the ferry your in good water, but the fish diffently come into that hole area.

there is a book called percision trolling, if you dont own it, diffently buy it, it will help you get your baits to the right depths, so you can properly target those fall eyes.

Fireball has your best answer. Do some searches on this site with key words and read the threads at this time last fall.

This time of the fall it is a crap shoot. Picton Bay is always descent this time of the year with Reef Runners and TD-11s. Work 20 to 25 fow. Work the area from the Cement Plant to the fairway buoy.

You didn't state what size your boat is so I don't think I would recommend Prinyer's or the Gap.

Good Luck
Al

thanks for the help!!! i have a 16' aluminum with a 25hp tiller, we usually stay at longreach in Deseronto
in the spring we troll infront of the island or go towards the lighthouse, using worm harnesses or crankbaits with some sucess
we never do good in the fall,
i just got into using planer boards this spring on lake erie (they worked good) i wanna try them on the boq in a few weeks,
on lake erie a perch colour worked great, what colours or pattern should i run on the BOQ
thank you!

try reefrunner 800, TD11s, TrollsTo20s ............ purples, blue chrome, black chrome, eridescent .... pinks, wonderbread.... no expert but I'll have success in the past with those.

I too am trying my first trip up to Picton Thanksgiving weekend. I have a 19` Legend Xcalibur and was wondering if that`s big enough for the water there. I would think so. Also, any idea where to get these Reef Runners that everyone talks about?

All the Reef Runners you'd ever want at Pro Tackle on Hwy. 37 just north of 401, see Pro Tackle
above, in forum masthead.
