Work keeps me on the other side of the world, so when I do get back home, I don't have the luxury of picking and choosing my days for fishing regarding the weather. I made it out into the blue zone a number of times out of Wellington in August while I was home. The lake surface temp. was anywhere from 74 down to 70 even 25 miles out from shore. I found that having great electronics helped me dial in much quicker than the old school trial and error in relation to water temp. at depth, speed. I was out in real crappy weather some days, and some real beautiful days as well. I am new to the area, and just started fishing the Bay and Lake Ontario last fall.
I purchased a new Lowrance HDS 10, a fish hawk X-4, and hit the lake. It wasn't long until we were into some decent fish.
I am attaching a few pictures for everyone to check out. I am currently back overseas and am just killing some time after work.
Heading back home to Belleville in a few weeks time, and hope to get out a few times.
Are the salmon and rainbows stacking up out in Amherst straight, and if so, what is everyone using as far as lures and colors?
