based on last year it totally depends on the day and the school. all of the above caught fish last fall when i was out.

Personally I have had a preference for reefs but lately has been swinging to raps... Just buy all and be safe :) Im sure stacy will give you a deal if you buy 30-40 baits at once LOL

I am kind also leaning towards TD-11s especially later in the season. I think they work better up the Reach but east of the ferry the Reef Runners seem to do better. Just my observation from last season.

Later

Also seems to be more colour based than body type sometimes.

Keep a well rounded variety of everything known to work. We all know on any given day it could be the TD's the next day it could be the Reefs, etc, etc. You'll likely go through several brands before you find what they're favouring that day. Don't forget the Manns!

What ever works... :) one thing I have learned over all the years of chasing walleye is there is no real hard and fast pattern day in and day out. I always start with a mixed spread of baits, depths and techniques and then let the walleye tell me what they want. If you have ever had the chance to fish with me you will notice I have a small tackle store on board my boat. ;)

I will confirm the tackle store...and I love the vessel that houses the store! The Fatman still says it is going to be his!

And if you have ever fished with me you know that I try different things but it always comes back to the bread and butter. sometimes we have a tendency to over think. Walleye dont change and they are feeding on the same baitfish they did a year ago. I might run Some different baits but if my usual pops I will have a full spread of them. I can not emphasize having confidence enough. I am more apt to mix up speed, depth, and presentation

I have to agree with LandShark confidence is huge! :D As guides we do not change up much because we have been on the water day after day and have a pretty good idea what will work on a given day or from previous years and fishing logs. I still always start my day with a high percentage mixed spread to see what they want. I have fished with a few anglers that change up to often and I think they never give the baits a fair chance, or they are pulling them over dead water.

From the list so far it looks like lots of different baits seem to work, just get confidence in a spread then dial it in as the walleye start to take one over the other.
