I agree with the 3 to 4 weeks before they are in the Bay. Surface temp was 65 to 66 degrees on the weekend.

Going to be rough weather on the Bay this weekend. The good aspect of the gail force north winds is that it will change the water temps at the Gap dramatically and should be the hot spot early next week. May be this is the weather event that will start the big girls thinking about the transition from the big Lake.

Also may be the winds will put those pesky weed masses high and dry on shore.

Be careful out there this weekend.
Al

The big girls wont be in until big numbers of gizzard shad migrate. The reports you have seen og big fish are coming from outside of the gap . A few larger fish caught on the inside bit most all of thehawgs are being picked off the ahoala of lake ontario.

Very true Mike, but the currents set up by the big north wind blowing out the gap may start the whole process of mingration.

We were down close to Prinyers on Sunday and we never marked any big schools of gizzard shad or many suspended large fish.

Later
Al
