Hey guys,

I am wondering if you can give me an advice.
I am planning to fish bay this Saturday. Checked weather already and looks like it will be little too much wind for my 14' tiny boat to fish Picton area, but still ok to fish Belleville area- Big Bay, Point Anne. Is fish biting there?
Is any areas around Picton where i can hide from the wind. I was planning to launch at Glenora marina?

Thanks in advance, i hope your replies will save me a trip from Newmarket.

The weather network is calling for SW 15 on Saturday - That should present a problem for your 14 footer, just keep a close eye on the distance back to the launch ramp.

Launching in Picton, the bay should have some effect some the SW winds, out around the corner the county shore would be in the lee. I would not bother fishing close to the weeds, fish deeper water would be best - IMHO.

Lotsa Luck

Have heard of guys catching them in deseronto, infront of the launch, small stuff. but its a protected bay, on saturday, i stopped on my way home, and it was flat water north of the island thats about a mile out. there was 5 footers in bellville in big bay, you could also troll into the napanee river from there. i saw two small aluminum boats out fishing.

If it's going to be southwest winds on Saturday, stay away from Mohawk Bay!!!!

I assure you with winds like that Big Bay and point Anne area will be rolling white caps......not alot of fun in a 14 foot boat

I was out with a buddy of mine last Nov 27th in my old 14' Lund around Point Anne when the winds picked up and had to head back to Belleville to the launch. Not a pleasent ride, let me tell you that! 8O 8O

Thanks guys,

Plans has been changed. I am going fishing on Monday. I will try Picton area, looks like weather would be cooperative - 10 km/h wind.
I will post report upon my return.

Sorry, i have one more question.

I was on the phone with guy from Glenora marina, he said where is no parking at marina any more because of all boats waiting for wintarization.
He advised to park and launch boat at McFarlane Park (i guess i wrote it wrong), because i can't find it.
He said it's on the same road. I can't see it - i can see Lake of Mountain Park only.
There is some area which looks like a park at the end of Loyalist Pkwy - is it the place?

Thanks

glenora ferry, has 4 boat spots, plus spots along the road to park.
the ramp is the east side of the ferry, so if your coming from picton, keep going east, take the ferry accross. no fee to use the launch, bath rooms, and lights. cement pad, has a wood dock, but its not the greatest, the wood dock is about 2-3 feet out of the water at the current time, in the spring its normaly 1-2 feet under water. lol.
