The 2nd warped detached grate was removed and gravel added 2 days age as a temporary fix for now. Dave Tughill, Ferry Supervisor is reviewing a better fix. I suggested they see the Finkle Park steel grate ramp. Gravel may not not be ok when icing starts. Any recent users?

I think we should sent emails to the local Ontario MP to have the western rock breakwater extended to provide safer launching, recovering. Anyone have the MP name and email?

thks Dave

Are we talking about the launch on the east side of glenora ferry ??
was there twice today, didnt notice any thing different then normal there, other then there wasnt any drift wood etc laying on the ramp like there normaly is. the walleye are diffently starting to bite, so i am sure there is going to start get busy in the next few weeks. I like that ramp, think its great, not a ton of parking, but you can park along the road for miles. the lighting is decent, and there is bath rooms.

It still has the speed bump there, It would be nice if they could fix that.

I was talking about the lip that is located where the grate meets the pavement on the ramp. I have watched a few guys get hung up there when it gets cold and wet.

When they backed in to load the boat the front wheel was just pass the small hump where the grate meets the pavement. They ended up having to back down into the launch to get a bit of speed to get over the hump. This has happened to myself as well. When I use the launch I try not to let my front wheels go off the pavement, I have a front wheel drive mini van and that is the only problem I have had at the launch.
