Hydro Plant fishing

Hi guys,
Has anyone trolled thru or around the out flow at the L&A Generating plant? How deep is it there and is the bottom smooth? Does the outflow have alot of current to it?

When the plant is running the outflow current is strong...it goes about a 100 yards out from shore. The depth off of the outflow is about 25 ft deep 50 yards out, 40 feet 100 yards out and then drops to 90 feet after that. Bottom is rocky and fairly flat. If I was fishing from shore I would stay off of bottom.

I have caught the odd rainbow off there and saw plenty of huuuuuugggggee carp. No doubt there are other gamefish like walleye, bass as well. I would love to spend some time further out sometime (I always just fished from shore).

I have used downriggers in front of the outflow and have caught rainbows, lakers, smallies and one 20+ pound chinook. There is a new park just east of the plant but have not tried fishing from shore there yet.

i'm looking to concentrate there for some early season and into summer action.
