nov fishing

going to try trolling in nov. first time.thinking i should purchase some reef runners.any suggestions on size and color would be appreciated,there are so many to choose from.thanks

Reef runner 800 series and td-11's are a good starting point. Colours are all over the map depending on the day but have had luck with blue/silver, purples and greens.

Agree with Big Mac, but also depends on depth of water you're fishing in and depth the fish are at. Most Rapala's and Reef Runners will tell you on the package how deep they dive. Having a variety of lures between 10-30 foot runners would be good for the fall. If you have a fishfinder, it helps. Choose your lure depth according to what depth the fish are at. There's lots of guys on this forum with years of experience at fishing Walleye in the fall. They should be able to give you a few more pointers.

agreed! the bible is key. Most fish you will get trolling in fall are suspending and the active ones are usually in the top 40 ft of the water column, even over 150+ FOW. As the water gets colder you can get them up higher so running your cranks back shorter leads will bring them up. The trolling guide will show you dive charts for a lot of popular lures and how much line you need to get the desired depth...

I would suggest a trip to see Stacey at Pro Tackle. He has pretty much everything you will need for fall trolling including a great selection of reef runners as well as the trolling book and planer boards if you need them too.
Other than that the above suggestions are spot on.

good topic gordo look forword to fishing with you in nov i like black and silver or blue and silver shad raps have done well with these .
