well, hit the water at the ferry at about 7:45, trolled east along the north shore for about 15 min then crossed over to the south side and trolled all the way up to Prinyers. Fish were suspended at 50-70' but nothing came up at our lures. We threw everything we had at them, varied our speed and depths, not a sniff. Packed it in at 3:30pm. Best excitement was when fishing buddy Don thought he put his rod in the rod holder and missed. 30 seconds later I asked him where his rod was and the panic was on. Imagine our luck to double back and see the cork handle bobbing up and down.

still, a great day to be away from the desk, not windy, not that cold and not raining. Fish would have been a bonus.

Dont feel bad. We had one at 930, 2 more missed bites and off water at 630. Charters were slow as well. First time I heard of a rod/reel floating -lucky!

Atleast you got out, I agree lucky the rod was floating, usually they sink.

How was the launch at the ferry?

no problem at the ferry. would be nice if the wooden dock were longer but it is what it is ...

going to get some planer boards this week, and may try to find some reef runners too. going to try to get out Wednesday.

we saw one fish pulled in near the bat cave, about 8:30ish

Fished from 7:30 to 3 and landed 4 Walleye between 9-11lbs fish came reel high in the water column also had a reel hard time keeping the sheepies off the lures no matter what speed we trolled natural colours seemed best with black and copper being second best

not bad! I would have taken a few sheepies on Friday. What day were you out and where were you trolling

We were out Saturday and trolled as far west as the bat cave and east to the upper gap
