I heard the weather report today and since it was supposed to be nice and sunny, I thought it would be a great day to Skip work and Hit up Frenchman's Bay in Pickering.

I convinced a friend of mine to join me in my Tin can,

I suggested on our way out that normally there is no one out there fishing so the water should be good....

We got there and there were three boats already trolling my lines.....
By the time we got the boat out of the truck and all our gear ready to set off into the water, one boat headed for shore....

And another boat was casting allot almost seemed like they were trying to catch Bass While Trolling.

Who fishes for Bass Anyway?

Not sure if any of you have tried to work Frenchman's Bay...
But there is a trench that is about 100 feet wide by about 4000 feet long, that is only about 12 ft. deep, which creates for short runs and tight turns.

We power'd up the electric troller, and looked over to seeing the 2nd boat head for shore...
thinking either the fish arnt on or they've been out for awhile....

after our seventh pass down the trench, I started getting frustrated,
Watching those Bass fishers pull in already 4 fish,
We headed back south for our 8th pass, only about 50 feet from those bass fishers, they were now trolling and hit a pike.... .....

We were doing the same thing, the same Speed....

It is what it is I guess.

Well I get about as far south, as the lure would allow before taking on Weeds...
Turn around and start on the north troll, almost instantly, I get into a nice 6 pound'r...... A really easy fight, But my Blue/silver cotton-cordell, Worked .....

After that, EVERY north troll produced another pike, got into the 4th northern on that same silver-blue, When I grabbed the rod, I had to pass it off to my Friend Trevor.
it Was the best of the day at just over the 9 pound mark....

Produced 5 pike for the short day out, with only one Fish spitting the hook.
And Trevor had something on his line, It hit hard and "CUT" the line almost as fast as it had hit.....

It was well worth Skipping out on work today, I'm thinking im gonna be seeing allot of Frenchman's bay over the next few weeks...

BTW, I dont have the option to catch Eye out here like you Quinte guys, so I have to Settle with Northern pike ;) .......

Made the Trip out to Frenchman's Bay this morning,
Today my Brother In-Law Jeff Joined me In the "Sleek Leak" .....

We just barely Setup and got to trolling speed, When my line fired,
The same Blue/Silver Cotton Cordel.

A brand new lure and only 5 pike have hit it, The paint is Scratched really good, "WAR WOUNDS".

Jeff's first pike was a nice size at the 7 pound mark on that Spring scale.

When we set up the wind was almost non-existant, I Wanted to troll out infront of the power plant, We Started into the lake, But "Lady-O" Didnt want us to play today, She opened right up and within minutes the calm water got fairly rough.
Made the Proper choice and turned back in, For some more Frenchman's bay Pike trolling.

a few more of these small guys and our Day was set...

This Came in With a Dreamweaver, Alewife glow Spoon, My most productive Lure of the 2011 season.

There were 8 other boats Come and go in our time out on the Bay.
Every boat caught more than a few Pike.....

It was worth Waking up early today, A bit Chilly first thing this morning but after about 5 hours out it got Right Warm.

Stay tuned for More from the "Sleek Leak" on Frenchman's Bay.

Nice pike slam!!, nice day to be out!

Well It was a nice Day To be out on Frenchmans Bay,
The winds kicked up from the South at just over 25 km's , A bit too rough for my 10 foot Crestliner Going out into Big "Lady-O" ;)

There will be many more days to get out there and try for something other than Pike.

It's like playing the Lotto you got to be init To Win It.......

Made it out fishing for the frst time in two weeks,
Just a few hours in the bay today,

We saw the bay driving across Bayly, Noticed it was calm and already two boats out,
Drove out to the launch and almost as soon as we touched the sand a Big dark cloud came own on us.

It WasCold and windy in the Sleek Leak, With some water splashing over the sides into the boat, Just asi said Enough is enough Jeff got into this Small Pike It was Like GRIZZ Says a "SHIVER FISH" ......

Not too many Weeks left until this bay is frozen over and we get to pull these Pike out through the ice ;)
