Well so far the bite has been less than spectacular.... Oh to be back fishing the big Lake late summer LOL!

Anyway as Landshark mentioned the bite has been really slow, no skunks but some hard fought 1-2 fish days, marking lots of fish but also lots of bait and I suspect there's just not enough competition for the amount of bait... how close am I who knows? its just a theory lol! I have battled hard and been very fortunate to get some fish to cooperate each day. Looking forward to when these pesky eyes decide to strap on the food bags but until then the weather is nice and I've had some nice eyes to keep me company. Here are some pics from the last week...

Good Luck out there and remember be safe!

A nice 6 and change

Also for what its worth most of the eyes have been taken on boards using 800 series Reefrunners back 120 ft or more at speeds of 1.8 to 2

Happy to hear your having some success for your clients Joe. Spent 3 days last week and only boated 1- 7#, 3 days this week and only 1-9#. All others we spoke with were also having difficulty boating any fish. Plan on giving them another go next week.

Thanks for the great report Joe.

I think you are right on target with your theory on the bait. The most forage that I have seen in many years on Quinte. We have had some good days east of the ferry but the last few trips we had to get away from those huge schools of bait to produce. When we started hitting eyes we also banged a lot of big lambs. On sunny days we had to go to the cores after 9 am as the eyes dropped in the water column
Have been away for a week deer hunting and from the reports I guess I haven't missed much. Back at it next weekend. I am hoping those big schools of bait are now west Glenora, And I am assuming those big eyes are not far behind. I still think water temps and the action is 2 weeks behind last year.

Keep up the hard work,
Al
