Spring Ice out

Hi all:
I'd having to plan a fishing trip to Quinte in early Spring and would appreciate to know when the Ice is out or at least I am able to get boat into water around Belleville area early Spring. Just the usual timing would be appreciated.

Everything is closed until first sat in may anyways. Except panfish I believe.

That's right first sat in May is walleye open. You can fish perch etc but it can still be pretty cold even on the opener. With 6 months to wait you should be able to come up with a plan...

.Walleye closes the end of Feb. pike closes the end of march.Ive seen the ice out the end of Feb.Most times its not out until mid March to the end of March.Perch is open year round but there are sanctuary's starting the first of April in Trenton and Belleville.

You will want to catch Brown Trout as soon as the ice is out in March . You can launch in Wellington or WestLake and head to Athol Bay (half an hour from our docks at www. sunrisecottageresort.com) in about 8ft of water. And yes we will be open. Dave

Thanks Wayne and daveatsunrise: youv'e given me some good advice. I was hoping for fishing what ever is in season at that time. So, I understand ice out sould be early Apr. at least according to history.
