Advice needed on a Lowrance X135

Hi! Guys - I thought this would be the best place to answer my question - how sensitive are the fishfinders regarding cold weather. We have a Lowrance 135X and should it be disconnected and put in the truck when we are hauling the boat to Picton (2 1/2 hours) in fall weather. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This maybe a stupid question for you guys that know but please cut me some slack because I am a girl and don't know the answer and don't really want to buy a new one if I screw this one up. Thanks

If you're that worried about it, play safe and keep it in the truck. It only takes a minute to hook it up once you get there. It's not that cold yet. I've fished in colder weather on opener LOL. I never leave mine hooked up while driving on the road.

I always remove my electronics when I pull boat from water and have found an old camera bag works great to protect them from any bumps/bangs during travel. As previously stated only takes a couple of minutes to re-hook them on next trip.

If it is cold take it out. I have had many units over the years and i have had some quit on me. I have sent 5 different units back for repair and all but 1 was related to a cold damage problem. Mind you the newer units are pretty tough but i would play it safe..... Fred

I always take em off when travelling, regardless of the weather or temps. What would happen if you got a flat and had to leave the boat on the side of the road for an example or pulled into Tim Horton's to grab a coffee. The X135 is a great finder. Very durable as I use it for Ice fishing as well.

Edit- The cold does not seem to bother them.

Thanks, Guys - It is nice to get good help with some of my many questions that I have. I will unhook the X135 as well as the FishHawk put them in a case to protect them when trailering. Thanks again for the info.
