I make the annual trip every year, was wondering what you boys have been catching recently.
I am assuming its still all open water, i know kind of a stupid question. Thought I would ask.

It is open water, very open. The guys are struggling from what I hear. Only a couple good reports in the last couple of weeks. Hell it's got to break open soon.

I will probably have a tough weekend, the team is away, Grizz is going down south to the deer hunt and Big Gene is down east. I guess I'll be rigging all the rods myself. :wink:

A group of 3 of us are down to merland's this weekend. Fishing out of a white with blue top Smokercraft. Probably be a tough weekend for wind, but maybe a little cold walleye chop is all that's needed to get them to open their mouths!!!!
