Okay,

I am finally heading back to Quinte this weekend. We are staying at West Lake Willows friday and saturday night, fishing Saturday and Sunday.

Planning an all out assault on the lambs ..... oops ...... I mean eyes! Cranks, spoons, haenesses, in-lines, dipseys, torpedos, lead core ..... man I need some copper.

Both my crew members are Quinte rookies, so hoping the rookie card pays off again.

We are planning on launching in Picton on Saturday, but I am considering launching at the Aldophustown ferry on Sunday, to save time on the drive back to Ottawa on Sunday.

Just wondering if anyone has launched at the ferry lately? How is the launch / water level?

Hope to see a few of ya out on the water or at the launch.

Launched at the ferry last night. Water is down quite a bit. You will likely have the trailer off the back of the grate, but they have filled it with gravel so it isn't an issue. Where the grate meets the concrete there is a pretty good lip from the metal being bent, bit other than that the ramp is fine. I was able to use it with a FWD Equinox, so if you have 4wd you will be fine for sure.

I launched at the ferry saturday. I didn't go off the end. (that i noticed) The dock is pretty short so it was a bit of a pain but doable.

Steve will you be makeing your annual late december trip to the bay this year.
I was down nov 15 th i was supposed to be there for 9 days but had to cut the trip short due to big motor problems.
i had to leave three days into trip i popped a piston which in turn took out two other clys.
I am waiting for a new short block which should be in the beggining of next week and i plan on comming back up the first week in dec
for four or five days weather permitting.

Mark, I close on my first home on December 15th.

That is right around when I normally head up....

This year may only be an extended weekend trip.

I got engaged two months ago, then just bought my house. This year has been a whirlwind....I hope I can get up...but this year (and ONLY this year) i'm not holding my breath....

however, I fully expect you to get up there and catch another monster....after all, next to russ cole himself, your fish is still the biggest i've seen from there!
