What an awesome day it was to be on the water before it freezes.
The ducks, loons and swans were in their glory.
Here's the sunrise from near where I launched.
Image
Paddled near to this place.

And finally caught an "Eye" instead of a "Lamb".
Image
26" ..6.5-7 lbs
Released to let grow.
Flat Lining Eriedescent Reefer..noticed 2 small taps..took rod out of holder..dropped rod back..pulled forward..noticed a bit of weigth and set hook..not hard. They're hitting lite . Think I had a couple other light hits. It would be cool to see some underwater footage..swear walleye try to swallow cranks head first too.

Well that's it for yak fishing.
First time doing BOQ in the fall ( I'm a veteran Ottawa River Rat )..and thanks for the humour and info.
from Quinte Fishing Forum.
See ya on the ice or in the spring.
EEF ( Brent ) :D :D

Way to go on your Yak Eye. It is a real blast when you get them in the Kayak. I have nailed many walleye, pike, bass, browns, etc from my kayak and it is always a rush. I love it when they tow you around and lead me straight to the rest of there buddies. LoL

Thanks for the kind comments guys.
You gentlemen and pirates of Picton have a good thing.
Yep, sleigh rides in a kayak are a hoot. :)

That's all I do now is fishing from a kayak. A pungo 120 or pungo 140 is a great choice at an economical price. They have great comfortable seating that's multi adjustable , 2 rod holders, anchor , paddle holder, lots of storage, fishing console and very stable ( even my dad who's close to 300lbs loves it so much, he got one too lol ) was out just the other day in it and will head out until the ice is in

There's a whole ton of different kayaks out there, and now is a good time to get one at a good price.
The 3 most popular kayaks for fishing probably is Hobie ..Outback which is peddled powered..hands free,
Wilderness System..Tarpon 140 and Ocean Kayak..Trident 13. A general rule is to try to try it out on the water before buying..Dealers often have demos in the spring. There's a trend now of making yaks better for stand up fishing. Things to consider is type of water on for main use..shorter 10-12' good for small rivers,
14-16' more stable on big water. Also Sit on Top..wetter but more stable ride vs. a Sit in ..dryier.
Also how are you going to transport it..my 13' Perception Search fits on roof rack nicely.
There's a bunch of info out there on the net.
For safety it's important to practice self rescue...getting back in/ on yak and on cold water should have
waders with belt and a dry top ( cuffs at wrists and neck) or a whole dry suit.
Hope that helps. :)

Neat perspective from there I bet.Talk about being "ON" the water. I'm too much of a Chicken $#!t to try it but it looks like a blast.
