Roughrider is using lead core and doing well. I'm using Braided line and in-line boards doing as well as I can.
Which ain't very well, is it?! Huh?! Is it?! What a crappy fishing season so far! With the exception of Neil's killer window on Hallowe'en night, and the guys who nailed a bunch way east just before the east winds started, there ain't been much happening so far. This board has been dead compared to other years - nothin' but crickets - although admittedly it is still early in the season. I hope it's a function of weather more than anything.
What's the surface water temperature out there anyway? They really don't turn on til it dips below 45F, and I'll take 34F as my all-time favourite temperature - just warm enough so your lines don't freeze up.
My dad and I bailed from trips this week due to crappy weather or winds or scheduling, but you can bet we'll be out mid-week next once the weather stabilizes. Roughrider told me he is heading out for an extended attack, and gave me his cell phone number since he's away from his computer. I'll bug him next week before we head out.
Good luck to you lot this weekend!
SOMEONE catch some bloody fish, fer cryin' out loud.
Sheesh.
