Quinte Fishing

It seems a lot of us want to know ice conditions and there are many threads to read and same questions asked on each thread. Maybe Dan could set up at the top of the board, threads that stay up there through the winter, for Potters, Huffs, Big Bay etc and people that have actually been out could post conditions of the ice. Not post, I heard someone say there was 6" out at Huffs.

Anyways just an idea. Might save some time and space.

Always check your own ice, but it's nice to know what people have seen for ice conditions so you can decide to make a trip out to the hard water or stay at home.

i was at huffs today fishing, no more than 4 inches anywhere but good black ice ,no air holes

I agree most people over estimate the thickness of ice!!!!!!! good idea if everyone measured the ice b4 posting it on the board!!!!!!!!

I trust my spud in the early season, a good spud will cut thru 2-3 inches in one swat so if I spud while i walk im safe to keep walking!
BUT most people carry sh itty spuds made with hollow pipe and dull blades that take forever to cut a hole

ive had people that own a bait shop give me an ice report of 7 inches of good ice to find 4 inches of ice with only 2 inches of black ice

TRUST NO ONE!
