hey paro i wasnt saying u said it was 6 inchs i was mad that somebody was saying it was. Where i was there today and was a good 3 inchs of black ice. sorry about the rant on here yesterday but i kinda feel responsible for people when i say the ice is good in a spot and being way off like 6 inchs when it was 1.5 / 2 inchs i just had the thought of everybody heading out to there and something happening. i know most people would check first but i still worry aboout it and yes there were quite a rew of us out there tonite. might try in the morning

I was almost to the green buoy tonight but the ice didn't look as good any further out. Did manage to ice one around 2lbs.

I don't take anyone's word for it when it comes to ice. I was rather surprised when guys were telling me 6" out there. 6" of solid ice is the minimum i will venture out on. I have seen 2 spots i fish this year with foot steps leading to large open holes coming off the ice. Sorry they way i read your post earlier i thought you meant i said there was 6" of ice.

ya sry im with posty.seein ppl say theres 6" when there was only 1" aint cool.bad advice(whoever gave that report) isnt cool and foolishly dangerous...the day that it was posted to be 6"...i was there...ya dont go through 6" with 2 hits from a spud...weather it be a regular spud or posty's monster spud..but hey,ol grizzly said it best..buddy system and trust your own word(most times)

either way tho...was damn nice seein all the folks at potters...no fish for most folks but i think we can all breath a sigh of relief and say............"hardwater is FINALLY here"(for quinte)...
ya know the saying a bad day fishin is better then a good day at work...well it wasnt a good day at work but compared to today,i was GLAD to get skunked...least i was out there
