What is the proper way to set up the Hub type ice shelter?

Will they tangle up if you set up improperly? Someone told me they broke the pole when they set it up.

Thanks in advance

You could PM Mobb Fishing and I am sure he could give you some pointers. He recently upgraded to a clam/sled style but mastered the hub style that he has as well.

practice.....practice.....practice.... before you hit the ice. I mainly use a 1 man flip over, but have a 2 man hub and it is a pain sometimes. We cracked a pole last year trying to take it down in high winds when it decided to take flight.

I would have to agree with the practice comment. Get to know how it feels when you are putting it up and taking it down, then you will be able to tell right away when something doesnt feel right when you are trying to set it up. I have a sub zero I bought from canadian tire and I love it but if your not paying attention the poles will break. Not sure what size yours is but all I know is the cardinal rule is the pull the roof up first before the walls, and obviously go in reverse when taking it down. Make sure you put the roof down last. Again I do love mine but you have to pay attention when using them.

On the bottom of the hut there is a skirt to bury in the snow, one corner of the skirt will have a hole in it for an anchor make sure this corner is facing the wind and put an anchor in. once thats done start with the top of the hut, grab it at the center and pull until it pops out, now do the same on all sides and anchor down the straps at each point. Take down is reversed. Becareful when takin the hut down as sometimes the knuckles at the points can twist on themselves.

Hope this helps.

Have never had a problem with mine yet. It's alot easier with 2 people, but can be done with 1. Watch the wind!!!! LOL. Like Fred mentioned, try Youtube. I believe a saw a video that said to stand on the skirt, to hold it down while you pull the top open first. Try setting it up in the house or on the lawn a few times to get used to it.

Good Luck

Thanks for the information. I am worrying because my boots has spike in it.
I will break the material if I step on it
