Thanks Steve for the update. The mild weather might open up the ferry ramp tomorrow but I'm really not sure. Is it possible to call someone that works for the Glenora Ferry for updates in the AM?

Mux / Taro... I just talked to the guy at the Glenora Ferry office and he indicated that it looks to be frozen out at leat a kilometer past the ferry towards Keith shoal.

We're planning to head down but it would be nice to have an update from someone in the area before making the 3 hr drive...

Steve - were you out last week?

unfortunately I have not been to quinte since the Slamb the Lamb tournie...

my November/December was full of peronal things that I could not get away from (first house purchase, etc).

2011 was my first year since 2002 that I did not do a December Quinte trip.....

I'm ashamed to even admit that...

However, I keep in close contact with those fortunate enough to get out there....I like suggesting idea's, spots, lures, etc from my desk here at work!

Thanks Steve - hope you get back out soon.

Taro, when you were out last week how bad was the ice? When you launched at Bath were you able to get over to Keiths shoal? I'm still hoping to make the trip, but it would be nice to have a couple other boats on the water...

Just drove past the Bath launch on my way home and its good to go. Even a truck and empty trailer parked there.
From what I can see its open to Cole Pt for sure but didnt go any further towards the ferry.

Hi "Old Princecraft",
I was able to get all the way to the ferry last week but I heard there is ice now from the ferry to about Keith's Shoal so there is some fishable open water left and 30km west wind won't have too much time to build with the ice blocking it and should be ok to travel in if you stay to the shoreline a bit. Hope this helps and stay safe, I should be out there tomorrow as well, give me a wave if you see me. I will be in an 18' Alumacraft with three other guys. Its good to have other boats around just in case something goes wrong this time of year.

Looks like we'll be making the trip... with any luck we'll be at Bath and on the water for around 9:00am. Should be 3 of us in a Ranger 620 ... I agree it's always nice to know there will be other boats on the water when you're out this time of year.

Mux, Snarf ? Who's in?

Heading out tomorrow for a scouting trip for the launch ramps, starting at Finkles, heading to the ferry, over to Pryners and back over to Hay Bay for a ice situation.

STAY TUNED soft water fishers

Sometimes your personal life might take a little preference over the fishing - walking down the aisle and a new HOUSE - holy cow.......

PS Missed our annual rendezvous - maybe Dec 2012?????
