I went to check out the new Sail store in Vaughan today. I thought it would be crazy busy but it was almost empty, a handful of cars in the parking lot, I guess the credit card bills from Christmas are starting to come in.

The store is nice, not great. They have a large selection of rods and reels, I didn't think too much of their ice fishing selection though not enough huts, lures or rods. They currently have 15 % off all reels and prices are better than some of the other stores.

Regards.

in my opinion the sail store has nothing on the selection of gear that the bass pro has...hard or soft water.

I thought the oshawa store had better gear at better prices then bp. Not as big of a selection but better quality.

Sail seems more for hikers, campers and back packers.the fishing and hunting section is no bigger than quinte outdoor sports. I went to the one in Oshawa today and I bet I won't go back unless I need some camping supply's

I have been buying at the Laval and Quebec City Sail's for the past 2 years, I think Quebec is the better store over the 2 it is well outfitted and has great varieties, colours , the Quebec store also has a very excellent hunting section, guess they outfit the stores to their general locale. I think the Oshawa Store will come around, once they understand the demand of what is wanted and what the competition is selling. I personally prefer them much more than BPS. Also Canadian owned and operated by the Baron family.

I was in the Oshawa store. I really liked it. Good hunting section, good fishing section, quality outdoor wear and gear, and one of the best camping/hiking/day tripping type sections I've ever seen. It was like Cabelas meets Mountain Equipment Coop. I think they understand the market very well because my wife loved it too. I was ready to go before she was!

All these stores, Sail, BPS, Gagnons, Tightline etc. all have different things to offer. Don't forget Canadian Tire or Walmart!!!!! I shop at all of them, and I buy from whoever has what I'm looking for. If one store doesn't have it, the next one will. Don't really care about the name of the store. There are a couple of stores where I prefer to shop, but I'm not going to wait, or order something from one store, because I dislike the other.

P.S.

I also think BPS is a joke!!!!!!!!!

When in Ottawa I shop at SAIL and find the fishing section ok. Their lure prices were good but Lebaron's had pretty much the same price if not better in a lot of areas. SAILs clothing section was huge and we found a great deal on a Columbia snow suit for my 3 year old daughter.

I went Black Friday shopping with the wife and thought I would find awesome deals at BassPro at the Fnger Lakes Mall but found much better deals at both Gander Mountain and Dick's Sporting Goods. I was really disappointed to say the least.
