Was there on Saturday with 4 buddy's an between us we got 4 eyes an all coming in the morning. Jus tinny perch the rest of day. That whole west side must be good cuz that car tuck a nice cruise around in the afternoon! Lol. I was tempted to try by I have a super duty 250 diesel. How thick would I need the ice for that?? Front has to weigh a ton on the pig!

Endo- if a power auger won't drill through the ice without an extension the ice might be thick enough then.Anybody that drives there vehicle on the ice is crazy, but that's just my opinion, but it doesn't mean much.

I was there on Sunday and saw the two (idiots in my opinion) driving. From 150 yards away the ice was pressure cracking all around as they approached. They were so dumb that they were driving bumper to bumper and going at a pretty fast pace for the first 150 yards causing a pretty good wave under the ice before they slowed down and spread out. Even when they were going slow the ice was making a lot of noise. I was pretty shocked.

Can anyone let me know how the fishing is on this lake? I am visiting a buddy around the area who lives 3 hours away and we were going to visit quinte. Doesnt sound like quinte will be good for Saturday (still have figers crossed), and we are looking for another decent spot where we can catch a walleye or two maybe. Any info would be helpful

Be careful on the right side if you don't know where you are going, there is a strip of current that flows north to south all the time not very far out from shore, very thin ice in that area, the huts are normally to the south of the strip in deep water.

Damn, I was out last Sunday on the left side and did not mark one fish in 5 hours! I cut holes in different places and still did not mark anything. From what I could see nobody pulled any fish out from 11-4pm.

had2lose: It is not just your opinion... they had to be idiots hahaha We saw them driving out bumper to bumper and someone told me that the guy in the car was driving on the ice the 2 weeks ago!!! At least he had enough common sense to put his windows down. I might have seen you out there. I was fishing outside a portable hut with my girlfriend and her parents.

Good luck guys!

Thanks Wonder. Not sure yet if I will be heading back to Moira or trying Dog lake this weekend for some pike and crappie. Hopefully the -17 to -25 night freezes all this slop.

What time would the morning bite typically be on from? Normally if I go in the morning I try to be setup by 6:30-7am.
