I,m sure everyone is aware of this new rig,by now,it,s all over the Bassmaster.com site,It would be nice if all the different series tournament directors, would make a decision,to ban the rig from tournaments,or not, before everyone blo :? ws a pile of money ?????

As per mnr regs. You are allowed 4 hooks on a line so as long as you dont have more than 4 hooks then the rig is allowed. there is no talk with the Quinte Fishing Series of banning

Yeah u have to use the 4 hook rig.
Btw anybody use this rig? How is it? I'd like to rig a heavy one up with large swim baits and troll for Muskie. Seems like it would be great on the French, st lawerence river or anywhere there's tons of pods of bait fish...

I have four that I picked up but have to yet to throw them during bass season. I rig up 4 hooks and add a willow blade for action on the fifth leader.

In-Fisherman should have TM'd this pattern years back when they attached 2-3 swim baits to a single line.

Anyone remember this before it became the "Alabama Rig"?

If it's what I'm thinking of that's called the double fluke rig a.k.a the donkey rig:

There are a few Alabama rigs being marketed in Ontario for 2012. They have 4 arms and will be legal.
Check out the blog for the press releases.

the "alabama rig" has been around for a long time, i personaly, own several of the salt water versions much larger and thicker wire. not bendable like the bass version. mine were given to me from my grandfather. that was in the mid 90's. (he said he was to old to cast them, as they are heavy)
i am glad mike is selling them them, i am going to order some from him, was looking for a supplyer that had a 4 hook version.
Thanks beaner.
