I decided to take a week off and come to Quinte even though from what I heard the ice was bad. The drive from Mississauga took me three hours last night.

I just came in from checking some spots, there were two tents just north east of the green bouy at Potters, 5'' of ice in one of the holes about 50 feet from the shore that one of the guy's there stuck his hand in. That was at 9:30 am. The top was grey ice don't know what under that looked like, I stayed on shore didn't have my suit with me.

I am just telling you what I saw, I'm not telling you it's safe to go out and play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all you guys fishing potters have to remember, potters usually is only really good the first couple weeks of early ice, which is generally mid december, gotta remember its middle of jan now. thats why theres not many fish being caught at potters

Dave,

Thanks for your information. Can you tell us which area the walleye move to?
Anyway, no matter where the fish are, we have to check the ice condition before venture out since ice condition change every minute.
