well my buddy and i went out for the second time on quinte with a member from the board. I know he's gonna be reading this soon and he'll get a chuckle when he see's that i'm posting our not so good turnout. We didn't manage to catch anything the whole day we were out there. I guess i'm bad luck when it comes to quite, acyually i think it' my friend that i have been brining. I have never gotten skunked like that before. ANyways, we made a new fishing friend and he does knwo what's he's talking about. HE has a really nice boat and a TONNE of tackle. Nice meeting you mike and for all you guys out on the lake, get the ones that we didn't. This doesn't mean i'm giving up though. I am still determined to get out there again and catch that big old quinte walleye i have been dreaming of.... need a walleye pic on my wall of fame........

thanks

Hey fishingguy28, what techniques were you using? Sure was a lot of boats out on the weekend, and I think yours was the first I heard of not catching fish. But sometimes that just happens..that's fishing, right!

Hope you get a photo of your big one soon!

If i do ge tout there again there is no way i am leaving until i land a nice quite walleye........lol. i might be a little tired but i'll do it, i'm determined 8O 8O 8O .

You weren't the only ones to draw a zero.

Add me to the zero list (at least for Walleye) on Sunday although I did take a 7 lb Pike close to Thompson's Point.

We were on the Bay on Saturday too....and we got skunked. Due to unmentionable technical difficulties.......we didn't get onto the water 'til 1 pm, and had to leave at 3 due to prior commitments. Just before we headed out, a couple of guys were heading back in, not having had any luck either. The boats we saw out there didn't seem to be having much success either, and the guys who took out their out after us got skunked too. Hoping to make it back out in early December and spent MORE time out on the water. 6 hours of driving for 2 hours of fishing just doesn't cut it!
BTW Wall I Guy, do you go through Picton on your way to the ferry from Ottawa, or get off the 401 at Millhaven, head south and take highway 33 to the ferry. We took this way back, and found it quicker than going through Picton, plus no ferry ride.

Hey fishingguy28 You are not the only one skunk.
My buddy, Johnny and I went to the Glenora area and also Thompson Point on Saturday, We used our usual lures and trolled at between 1 and 1.5 mph. Skunked!!! The dept sounder showed very few fish deep. We called it quit early but we will try again next weekend.

Just curious how your speeds were guys? We were trolling 1.5 to 2.5 and did alright. Any chance you were going too slow? Just a thought :!:

The other thing I find is critical, how much line were you letting out :?: We were running at least 150 ft off the boards or, even when longlining.

Just something to consider :!:

Thanks for the tips WIG. I'm taking my wife up there on Friday, so hopefully the weather will cooperate. Ya I know it's not likely. I had been curious as to what speed to troll at and you answered that perfectly. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

I was running 140 feet behind the boards with boards 100 feet from the boat at speeds ranging from 1-2 mph depnding on where the wind was. My Merc 40 4 stroke idles right down at 700-800 rpm and will purr all day. Nada except a 7 lb pike at Thompsons.

when i was at quite the week of nov 6 was using mann's stretch 20 clown, wild shiner, and the one with puple on top with pink dots with a chartruse bottom, was putting out 210 feet of line which brough the mann's lure down to about 28 feet. and was 100 feet from the boat. hope that helps you have to pay around with the depths depending where the fish are on the fish finder. happy fishing see you on the water. walleyedreamer.
